We designed our Ascenders to be durable, comfortable, and good looking. After the initial success of our original chino pants, we wanted to deliver an option that improved on the original, and we searched for a fabric that would outpace everything else we saw.

It wicks moisture and repels water. It resists wrinkles and odors. Plus, it’s lightweight and breathable – in a package that feels substantial and soft.

With a matte finish that takes on color beautifully, you can feel comfortable styling these with the rest of your wardrobe. And since we know that comfort is key, these performance chinos are made with a fabric that is soft and moves easily. Although the waist is designed with the classic khaki chinos look, it actually has a secret stretch waistband for a more comfortable fit.

For the everyday carry community, we designed these EDC friendly pants with specific pockets that facilitate organizing your kit the way you want to. A hidden pocket-inside-a-pocket in the front left lets you securely stash cards and cash. Two phone pockets allow you to pick where you want to carry your device – either in our signature hidden waistband pocket, or inside the front right pocket, in a patch specially designed to hold the phone more comfortably at the top of your thigh.

With all these features and more, the Ascender chino raises the bar for how comfortable khakis can be, and still look amazing, while carrying what you need.

How do I care for my Ascenders?: Machine wash cold 86° F (30° C) with like colors. Do not bleach. Dry medium heat. Low iron, if needed.
How do I ensure my Ascenders always look their best?: Remember to remove immediately from washer and dryer. If needed, warm iron to remove creasing. In case a stain happens, we suggest using a mild dish soap to clean it.
Can my Ascenders be altered?: Yes, they can be altered as long as your tailor is comfortable working with the material.

Nice pants, true to fit but package wrinkling
Took them for their first test drive in NYC for a weekend. Good fit. Comfortable. Real pockets and by that I mean deep enough to hold stuff without it falling out. Nice zippered security pockets and the phone pocket. My only complaint is that the wrinkles from the original packaging are very difficult to get out. I washed them three times. Warmed ironed them. Still there. No doubt they will come out in time. Thus four instead of five stars. Customer service is great. I had to return the first pair due to an error on my part related to sizing. Someone actually answers the phone. And, they answer questions submitted by email.

Best chinos
That’s great just enough room. Material is light and breathable. The Taylor fit is great with a slight taper so far the best chinos I found.
5’9” 194 pounds athletic build. Purchased a 3230 a year ago. I never wore them. They were a little too snug. Just purchased this 33 x 30 excellent fit perfect amount of stretch. Definitely looking forward to grabbing a couple more pair.

Meets My Needs
I got these pants to travel with and they meet my needs. The fit is very good. The pants have security pockets so I will not have to worry about having things fall out of my pockets on the plane or in the bus. The material looks and feels like it is water resistant and wrinkle resistant although I have not yet put the pants to the test. The price was reasonable so I am happy with this purchase.

Fit Guidance

Regular:

Ease throughout the hips and thigh. Sits just below the natural waist with a straight leg.

Tailored:

Similar ease throughout the hips and thigh as our Regular Fit. Sits just below the natural waist and has a straight leg with slight tapering below the knee.

Slim:

Our most fitted pant through the hips, thigh, and leg. Sits at the hip with a slightly shorter rise and has a narrow, tapered leg throughout.

How to Measure

Neck: Wrap the measuring tape loosely around the base of your neck, keeping one finger between your neck and the tape.

Arm (Spine to Wrist): The arm measurement used for sleeve length is measured from the center back of the neck to wrist. Hold your arm out to the side with your elbow slightly bent, and measure from the back center of your neck (your spine) down the outside of your arm to your wrist bone.

Chest: Wrap the measuring tape around the circumference of your chest at the widest point, approximately 1"/2.5 cm below your armpit. Inhale, exhale, and then place a finger behind the tape. Keep the tape level and snug, but not too tight.

Natural Waist: Bend to the side to find the natural crease of your waist. Wrap the measuring tape at this point, keeping the tape slightly loose.

Waist: Wrap the measuring tape around your waistline (where you want your pants to sit), keeping the tape slightly loose. Bluffworks pants are offered in 1"/2.5 cm increments, so we suggest sizing up if you're between sizes.

Hips: Keep feet together, and wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your seat (approximately 8"/20.3 cm below your natural waist), keeping the tape slightly loose.

Thigh: Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of the thigh (approximately 1"/2.5 cm below the crotch), keeping the tape slightly loose.
